AIRBRUSH CLASSES

Classes will be taught by Steve Puffer and Ashley Brayson and will hopefully appeal to a variety of students. We intend to

add more classes as we go along and get a feel for exactly what artists are looking for. The general idea is to make the student

as comfortable as posssible in the use of the airbrush in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Classes are limited to a maximum

of eight people. Everything is provided but please bring a packed lunch.

BEGINNERS CLASS £125 per person

This class is designed for the first time airbrush user or perhaps the artist who purchased an airbrush some time ago

and simply hasn’t had the time to get to know it. Many artists say they own one and simply couldn’t get on with it or

aren’t sure of it’s suitability in their work. Hopefully we can help you to overcome any reservations you may have in this area.

The course will explain in detail the following:

ANATOMY OF AN AIRBRUSH

DIFFERENT TYPES OF AIRBRUSH AND APPLICATION

COMPRESSORS

PAINT

CLEANING

LAYING OUT YOUR DESIGN

DIFFERENT SURFACES TO PAINT

FREEHAND AIRBRUSHING

ALL EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED ON THE DAY. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY

TO PURCHASE AIRBRUSHES AND PAINTS AT THE END OF THE COURSE.

FUR CLASS £175 per person

This class is designed for the student who has used an airbrush before and would like to use it in conjunction with

the paintbrush. It may sound like an odd subject for a class but creating detailed fur or hair in animal artworks can be a

tricky thing. Using the airbrush alone can result in frustration and hand fatigue due to the constant triggering! Using this

technique Ashley will explain how to render fine fur and hair detail combining opaque and transparent paints.

This course will cover the following:

HOW TO USE THE AIRBRUSH AND PAINTBRUSH FOR A BALANCED LOOK

DIFFERENT PAINTBRUSHES AND THEIR USES IN CREATING FUR

CORRECT USE OF OPAQUE AND TRANSPARENT PAINT

CREATING THE ILLUSION OF DEPTH IN FUR

PAINTING DIFFERENT HAIR TYPES

ALL MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT ARE PROVIDED. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE

EQUIPMENT AT THE END OF THE COURSE.

REMEMBER...THE AIRBRUSH IS JUST ANOTHER TOOL AND SHOULD BE USED HOWEVER AND

WHENEVER YOU THE ARTIST DECIDES IT APPROPRIATE TO DO SO.
